She stood in front of the mirror, holding the electric razor with trembling hands. Tears rolled down her cheeks as she watched her hair fall away. For a moment, she felt like she was losing a part of herself.
But something deep inside her whispered a different thought.
Hair doesn’t define who you are.
That evening, Fabiana lay on the couch thinking about everything she was going through. She felt scared, but she also felt something else — determination.
She didn’t want cancer to define her story.
The next morning she took a small wooden board she had once bought at the bookstore for a craft project. With a marker, she slowly wrote:
“My name is Fabiana. I’m fighting cancer. Can you wish me luck?”
She looked at the message for a long time.
It was simple. Honest. Brave.
Her friend Sofia took a photo of her holding the sign and posted it online. Neither of them expected much. Maybe a few friends would see it.
But something incredible happened.
Within hours, hundreds of people started sharing the photo. Messages began appearing from everywhere.
“Stay strong, Fabiana.”
“You’re going to beat this.”
“My mother survived cancer. You can too.”
“Sending love and prayers.”
The messages kept coming.
Thousands of strangers from different countries wrote words of encouragement. Some shared their own stories of fighting illness. Others simply wished her luck and strength.
Fabiana spent hours reading them.
