It started with a feeling of exhaustion that wouldn’t go away. At first she thought it was just stress from work. Then came the headaches, the dizziness, and the strange pain in her body. Her friends convinced her to see a doctor.

A few days later, she was sitting in a white hospital room, staring at the doctor’s serious face.

Cancer.

For a few seconds, everything around her felt silent. She could hear her heartbeat, fast and heavy in her chest. Her mind filled with questions she was too afraid to ask.

Am I going to die?
Will my life ever be normal again?

Eventually, she decided to shave her head.
